Admins should have less power than Creators, and Co-Creator rank

Since I am the Creator AND Admin on my own site, I noticed something.1 - Admins can edit the Creators' profile. 2 - Admins can change the Creators' slogan. 3 - Admins can remove the Creators' profile image. 4 - Admins can do everything the Creator can do. In my honest opinion, Admins should NOT be able to change ANY of the Creators' info and stuff. And Admins should not have ALL of the Creators' powers (excluding unable to be banned). That is also why there should be a "Co-Creator" rank that can only be given by the Creator, and to only one person. Co-Creators will have all Creator powers, and the only person who can ban the Co-Creator is the Creator. Co-Creators will not be able to edit any of the Creators' info and stuff. To keep it simple... Instead of a Co-Creator... just have one Administrator... Instead of many Admins... just have only Moderators... Moderators have almost as much powers as Administrators... to do anything on the site and managing everything concerning members... Moderators just don't have access to member's profiles and to the Site Settings (except for the Templates section)... but do you want them to? * 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

The admin role is essentially the same as the creator. If you don't trust someone with that level of control over the site, don't promote them. Use moderators instead. Most sites shouldn't have more than one or two admins in my opinion.

For organizational reasons, what Jivanda and Jeremy said, really. I also don't see the need for any new ranks besides the ones we already have. Those should be enough if planned and used correctly.I do agree that it doesn't make much sense that administrators are able to edit the creator's profile, though... Anyway, there's not much use to discuss this right now, because it's not like Wetpaint is ever going to change this or introduce anything really new anymore, so... Do you find this valuable? |

I don’t think there needs to be “Co-Creators” but the ability to transfer the Creator title is needed (like when a Creator QUITS). Do you find this valuable? |

Mute point. Wetpaint will not be changing the hierarchical structure of permissions. Proper usage of the different permissions allows for proper management of wikis as it stands today. There is no need for any other newly created titles or responsibilities. Most of the difficulties with wikis when it comes to the different permission's titles, is a failure to dedicate the proper authority to the proper person.Do you find this valuable? |

Thats true silvertabbiesrock...people don't seem to realize that the position of an Admin or moderator should go to a person who is capable of doing the job fairly, can have a report with members, beable to make firm and fair decisions about problems even if a problem is caused by a friend. If you ak friends to moderate your site just because they are your friends, then trouble is sure to happen.
