You may want to clear your cookies and cache. Click on the page location on the top of this thread and it will bring you to the page with instructions on how to clear the cache and cookies of your browser. Make sure you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox . These are the only two supported browsers for Wetpaint.

Java must be enabled on your IE in order for it to work, try doing the following:
On your browser's toolbar go to

Tools --> Internet Options --> Go to the "Advanced" tab --> Scroll down until you see a Tickbox which says "Java (Sun)" Make sure Java is enabled on that tab.

I deleted your other post regarding this issue.

Are you using Internet Explorer? or Firefox...
As far as I can see you are using a Firefox version that needs to be updated...???

Try this...
In the menu go to Help > Check for Updates...
if there are any updates... install them..
and anyway... try clearing cache and cookies... as described on this page:
http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Browser+Support

Here you can check whether you have the latest Java Version:

All of my sites when opened in Internet Explorer are reporting errors and at some point will drop the site from even being viewed.

The error condition I was experiencing was caused by Simple Ad-Blocker. I disabled the add-on and the errors went away.

Wow thanks. keep me updated....please. I just promoted this site asking teachers to join and collaborate ideas about lesson plans and now people can't add anything. It's sad. Thank you so much for your help.

Do you have any updates on if they are still looking into my probelm? If they can't fix this problem is there another kind of service that people use that is like wetpaint. I really don't want to abandon the site but if the people using Internet Explorer can't use "Easy Edit" then I do not know what else to do. You can't get fire fox on a school computer unless and you specifically ask for it and I imagine most teachers do not even know what Fire Fox is.

I went to your wiki, joined and was able to edit a page without any problems. The only thing I noticed was when a page loaded it loads with errors. I am using IE 7. It happens on others sites as well. I receive a message "Done with errors on page" I captured some screen shots of the error condition and placed them in the photo gallery. I also informed jeremy_wetpaint of the problem. He stated he could not reproduce the problem on your wiki and that no others, aside from me and you are reporting any problems as such, and dismissed further involvement. My IE has no add-ons or other attachments to it. It is exactly the same as it comes from Microsoft. I only use IE to test my layouts of my wikis. I have not had the errors reported before.

Are others on you network using IE explorer? Are they seeing the problem also. I noticed you alerted the users of your wiki of the problem, but has anyone other than yourself reported they cannot edit pages?

Although I do not work for WP, I will try to remain with this problem until we see a resolve to it.

When I get back to school on Monday I will try to see if the site works on computers in my building. If my memory serves me correctly I do not think the site works on the computers in my building. Which means that it would not work on any of the computers in any of the schools in my city. We can't update our computers unless an administrator does it....we also can't download fire fox. I responded to you on wetpaint but I did recently download a version of IE 8 that worked but my husband has a different version of IE 8 hat still doesn't work. His computer is brand new. I guess there is more then one version of IE 8. My husband thinks it is a Java error. Thanks again for staying with me on this.

Hi,

I tried it on my computer at school and it doesn't work there either. At school I have version 8.0.6001.18702 (i found this version number by going to "Help" and clicking "about IE")

Current Version of IE: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8
Current flash: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Current Java: http://www.java.com/en/download/inc/windows_upgrade_xpi.jsp

Make sure all three of those are updated to the recent version. If it still continues to give you problems, I would suggest downloading FireFox:

thanks I will give it a try. The reason why I have to get it to work in IE is because it is for teachers in Chicago......we are not allowed to download things like fire fox on our computers and we can't update IE......our computers are locked. That was why I was hoping it could be fixed in the code. Thanks for your help though.

Well, as a new IE is released, I would love to see how you can use Wetpaint, because as a new IE is made, it is supported by Wetpaint eventually, and they drop old versions of IE.
I can see how that can be, cause as a student at my school, I can't download new browsers because our teacher finds them as "junk", but we're not stopped completely.
What I said in the first paragraph, I would consider alerting the Administration to allow you to upgrade browser versions. Flash and Java are also involved, so I'd tell them about them as well.
