Video embedding Bug

I AM SO FREAKING ANGRY I WANT TO SCREAM!!!! I have been trying for over 6-months to embedded videos to my page and i keep getting an error messages. Please do not give me advice on how to embed, I have been embedding videos on this site for over a year, so I know how to do it. There is a bug here and no one seems to want to fix it!! I want to know if anyone else has been having this problem. I also want to know if anyone plans on fixing this, if not please let me know so I can delete my page and find another home. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I embed videos everyday. And there has not been any reports here with people not being able to embed videos for quite awhile. In order to fix your problem there is some more information needded.

What browser are you using?
Do you have the latest version of Adobe Flash?
What video host are you trying to embed. Youtube Google, etc. Recently Youtube went through a code change for their videos?
Do you have Java Script enabled?
Did you upgrade your browser with an addon or plugin prior to the problem starting?

We do not answer questions using other site messages. So you will have to come back here to resolve this issue.

I think abode flashplayer is up to 10 now. Do you find this valuable?

I have flash 10. Mozilla is 3.6 I'm trying to embed youtube video.I'm pretty sure Youtube has not gone through any code changes or else others would have complained. Also I have had this problem for over six months. Java Script is enabled. Only add on is my Kaspersky anti virus and it's not enabled. As I said before I have been embedding videos here for over a year and never had a problem. And if you look on my page http://lwordwiki.sho.com/account/IIDoves
you will see the many videos I have embedded over the years, so I know how to work the system. Also whenever I had this problem I could always go to the 'other widget' button but that from I see is no longer is there. Any other suggestions? Do you find this valuable?

The other widget tool was removed from the profile easyedit toolbar quite a while ago. This is why you cannot add videos to your profile This is not a bug or glitch. Wetpaint removed it due the amount of spam occurring on individuals profiles. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

That is not why I can't add Youtube videos to my page, if u really read what i wrote, using the other widget tool was just another option I used when the original option was not working, like it 's not working now. Please don't confuse the two. I am still getting an error when I try to add videos the normal way. Do you find this valuable?

P.S. why is the concentration on what I might be doing wrong. As I said before I have been adding videos for over a year without problems, and if u see my page u will see I know how to embed videos. I even tried other computers and still get the same error. It's pretty simple, copy and paste the code into video. Even when I try to do a search for the video on youtube I get the same error message. There is something seriously wrong here. Do you find this valuable?

I see that you have added many videos to your profile. I also deal with a lot of videos. I have not had any problems at all. And there has not been any other reports of others having probllems in this araa. So, let's see if we can get you fixed. What is the error message? That is the key at this point., If the message say "An error has occured, try again" That is a WP message. If the error says error 2038, that is a Flash message. There is one troubling thing about this situation and that it is happening on two of the computers you have tried. Hang in there, we will get you fixed up.

What it say's when I add the embed code or try to search out my video on youtube is "We are sorry, an error occurred, if this problem persists, please reload page and try again" and of course I reload several times and I still get the same error. Do you find this valuable?

Thanks for your reply. The problem you are experiencing is a Wetpaint problem associated with your account. No one in the community can help you with it. The only person that can assist you here is Jeremy_Wetpaint. He should be able to resolve the issue for you. The only problem that exists at this moment is that he is on vacation. So I would message him and request assistance from him when he gets back. Jeremy is a Wetpaint employee.

My best guess is that the problem is related to the volume of content on your profile page. There is so much stuff embedded there that the page can barely load. I would recommend cleaning up your profile a bit and see if that helps. Do you find this valuable?

How can that be when there is a videos page that everyone adds to with hundreds of videos and there is no problem . There are also many pages with much more videos than mine and no problem there. I also thought at one time that could be the problem so I opened another page and got the same error message. Do you find this valuable?

I went to your wiki and tried to embed a Youtube video on my profile. I received the same error reported. I tried by searching and by embed. Neither worked. I tried pulling one from the video gallery and it workded I Then went to a Youtube video on my wiki and copied a video widget. I then put the copied widget to my profile and it worked. I then tried to copy the embed code from that same widget and received the error message. This can only lead to one thing. The video gallery for that wiki is full. It has reached it limit. There are 1185 videos in the video gallery.

Now two things can be done to add more videos.
1. As Jeremy stated earlier...start to delete some old videos from the gallery to clear up some space. Or,
2. Create a container wiki to hold another 1100 videos. Create another wiki simply for videos. Add the videos via a widget to a page and then copy the widget over to the L Word wiki. By doing this it isn't adding to the video gallery of the L Word wiki. You can provide a link to the container wiki for those that want to add more videos.

First put the video onto a page of the container site as a widget, then easy edit the page and copy the widget CTRL-C windows or CMD-C mac. Then go to the L word page or profile. Easy Edit and CTRL-V or CMD-V to paste the widget.

May I suggest that on the Container wiki, that a page template be set up to hold 20 videos. So each page will have only 20 videos on them. Then find some type of Catergory theme for pages so the videos can be easily found and sorted. Just a thought. And if you run out of space on the Container wiki, you can create another.
