1. RE: Citations

"Wetpaint needs citation capability. Without it there are serious limitations."If you are referencing original source citations, that is normally handled by the wiki page author to make such a citation. Similarly with footnoting. There seems to be a rule of thumb standard for citations. Below is an example. It is an appropriate tool for any usage of other's work as reference. But the onus is on the site administrators and moderators to enforce. The format includes: Author or editor/ Year of Publishing/ Title/ Type of medium/ Producer (optional)/ Availability/ URL/ Access date (optional) When a publication date is not available, enter "(no date)" If this is not what you are referencing, please explain in more detail as to what you are seeking from Wetpaint. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Thanks, but I mean an automated tracking of the citation number throughout the document. I I am not refering to the format of a footnote or reference, but to the hyperlinking to it.Wikipedia offers a way to do this within a single page, but the citations (references) should be available for footnoting throughout the workspace once you create one. You should be able to enter the footnote content, and have it stored within the wiki and compiled into a numbered list. Then, when a new footnote is added, the numbering will automatically adjust both in the list and in the text. Do you find this valuable? |

Thanks for the clarification. It is a wonderful suggestion. I hope that Wetpaint considers this for a feature in one of the future releases.
