add ability to register full domain name on the fly
Nov 10 2007, 10:27 PM EST
i would like to have the ability to create/register a full domain on the fly. i can do it with godaddy right now - i'm sure they'd be willing to partner.
i can register a new domain with godaddy, click a couple of buttons to install whatever cms i want, and a few hours later myownpersonaldomain.com is rockin with a full-featured cms or whatever other pre-installed app i wanted.
sure - we'd fill the blogofascosphere with lots of horriblespurofthemomentdomains.com, but that's not wetpaint's responsibility - they'll be fallen trees in the wilderness. but some people like me are actually smart, and we want sh*t done yesterday, so give me this ability, will ya, son?
grossius.

I'm not sure what you're referring to here. If you are explaining the difference between a pay domain/hosting company like GoDaddy versus the free services offered on Webpaint then yes, with a registrar like GoDaddy you can buy a domain name with hosting, have a fully customizable site etc....but again you have to pay. If you are going to go that route, I would suggest http://www.domain.com where domains are only $8.95 and hosting starts as low as $5.25 per month. The disadvantage here is obviously that you have to pay but the advantages are you can purchase the right disk space, bandwidth, email accounts and hosting tools and features for you and host up to an unlimited number of websites.
