this is no application at all
Oct 12 2007, 8:42 PM EDT please, LET ME BE FRANK, this is nothing more than a cheap publicity gimmick for wetpaint, at least as of now, nothing is added to the functionality of my existing facebook account, and no value is utilized of my existing wetpaint wiki.. this is only good for wetpaint VISIBILITY for people on facebook who have not heard of wetpaint before.. well, not that bad, really but it brings no good to me either 9 out of 11 found this valuable. RE: this is no application at all
Oct 12 2007, 10:08 PM EDT agin, to reiterate my point above: nothing good and nothing bad to me, just good for wetpaint, this is only good for wetpaint VISIBILITY for people on facebook who have not heard of wetpaint before.. well, not that bad, really, but it brings no good to me either 1.) nothing is added to the functionality of my existing facebook account, 2.) no value is utilized of my existing wetpaint wiki.. what i mean is, applications on facebook are supposed to aim at integration there is no integration, no added value, no synergy look at http://apps.facebook.com/okcupid/personality?type=RGSM&g=1&o=1&fb=1 1.) it integrates my okCupid test results into my facebook account 2.) it will also allow for sharing these results to other facebook users 3.) i could opt in for integration of facebook account with my okCupid login that's value, synergy, web 2.0 in action, 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Oct 15 2007, 12:46 PM EDT We think this adds a lot of value to Facebook accounts. It's the first multi-user collaborative space within Facebook, and it's using our excellent WYSIWYG editing and page-management tools. We encourage you to think of your Facebook account as more than just a page and more than just your profile. With the introduction of something that you, your friends, and your groups can work on together integrated into the Facebook environment, we're doing something different than just adding another personality test. As we grow our Facebook application, we'll be allowing people to incorporate their current Wetpaint wikis into their Facebook accounts. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Nov 7 2007, 12:59 PM EST I'm Ben, the developer here at Wetpaint who is working on our Wiki Whiteboard application for Facebook. I really appreciate you feedback. I agree with your points. Please know that our Wiki Whiteboard development has only just begun. Simply getting our existing application to work within facebook was a big challenge. This was my first Facebook application. The reason that we didn't initally integrate Wiki Whiteboard onto Facebook profile pages is that we wanted to make sure all of the initial kinks were worked out before things went really viral Right now, I'm working on integrating Wiki Whiteboard with facebook profile pages, and if you have any specific ideas on how we can add more value, I'd love to hear them. Thanks Again, Ben Do you find this valuable? |

Nov 7 2007, 8:23 PM EST yes, we really go viral, and viral is the way to go in the growth of any wiki, addictive, too wetpaint is a Great WYSiWIG wiki, so it is greatly viral and addictive see, that's one more thing, you didn't notice you werent logged in THAT almost happened to me once before, another weak link in an otherwise strong and useful web service log in credentials should be global, but site settings should be localized to the wiki (like membership, options, etc.) im really looking forward to great improvements here, good luck to you all.. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Nov 9 2007, 12:44 PM EST Actually, our login system works exactly the way you describe. When you log in, you're logged in no matter which wikis you navigate to. You might not, however, be joined to the wiki. That's a separate, explicit step because we don't want people to appear as members of wikis they've only browsed to (Our system used to work that way, but we fixed it some months ago.) Individual wiki preferences can be managed from your profile page on that wiki. If we could make this clearer, I'd like to gather some ideas on how we could do it. Anyone? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
