Breadcrumbs Needed
Aug 7 2007, 4:11 PM EDT
Wetpaint provides a good FORWARD Navigation Box for browing a wetpaint site. However, there is a need for a way to easily navigate BACKWARD thru a site.A Breadcrumb feature (or widget ) would provide a way for BACKWARD navigation as well as an indicator of the location of a page within the site structure. This problem frequently occurs within larger sites after clicking on a search result page to display the selected page. Scrolling upward in the Navigation box is necessary to see the page's location within the structure of the overall site and is cumbersome in a large site. I have seen some hand coded breadcrumb links on some wetpaint sites, but this would necessitate the site creator to review all pages added by other users so the breadcrumb could be updated on the added pages. Please consider adding this feature on a future release. Thanks. Do you find this valuable? |

I totally agree! I'm thinking of manually coding breadcrumbs, but what a pain! A widget to add them would be great, or an option for the title on each page (with or without breadcrumbs).

On a lot of sites, if you look toward the top, normally, you'll see the trail of where you've been in the site and you can click on each level. Something like Home -> Level1 -> Level2 -> Level3 Then you can bounce back up the chain quickly.
