There is already in place a friends feature. It is located on each profile page A list of all the friends you have made on a wiki will be there. Do you find this valuable?

To friend someone, you have to be signed in. What you do to friend them is you click on their name and then click "Add as Friend" in the little box that pops up. If they accept, you'll be notified of it.

You'll also be notified if people send you a friend request.

Once you have friends, you can view them on the far right of your profile page.
