There's a option most of you obviously haven't considered. Take your Wiki's "Private". Then you invite in only those you totally trust and whose company you enjoy. That eliminates the possibility of a hacked page or account on your site, because you know everyone in there and whether he or she's capable of such nonsense.

"Yeah, that's both the best and the worst feature of wikis in general.

I'd like an easy-to-edit interactive site, but I'd also like to be able to control exactly WHO can interact WHERE, as well as WHO can read WHAT. The only option right now is to have different Wetpaing places for each, and that could get to be a nightmare real quick."
Yeah, my site actually has a moderator-only private spinoff site because you can't limit acess to pages... ideally it could be dome both by member and and broadly by permission level.

Also, it would be ideal if you could limit access by both inclusion and exclusion. Example:

INCLUSION: You have a certain page on your site that has just been going insane with fad storms, account suicides, and the like. To contain that page's insanity, you decide to limit access. The small group of users able to visit now will be about 8% of the total userbase, so it would be more convenient to input the names of those who can visit than those who can't.

EXCLUSION: You have a certain page on your site and a group of suspicious users who you don't want seeing that page, perhaps because it contains semi-sensetive information that could be used by untrustworthy to "game the system" and gain an unfair advantage over other users. In this case, it would be more convenient to input the names of those who can't visit the page than it would be to input the names of those who can't.

Great idea..this is something we really need because how can you get members if you have to invite them all manually? This is what happens when you make your site private. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Exactly! It would be great if you could make list of people who could view certain pages!

"hi ithink there should be password protected pages or only selected users can view some pages."
I think wetpaint needs a major update. Like giving us more permissions for one. I want my own favicon, password protected pages ...

What's happening with this? I see that almost 40% of those responding to the survey have voiced support for this enhancement. It's a pity it still hasn't happened a year and a half later. This would be so useful. Do you find this valuable?

I totally agree with you all, I think that "the powers that be" needs to expedite the implementation of this and to optimize and or effect other crucial functionalities to the site, that will greatly enhance overall a lot of concerns.ex; (and I don't mean this in a negative way) but a lot of the ladies and young adults, tends to like diversity, and the ability for them to add flashy things and colourful backgrounds, will cause the sites to boom, this is outside of how good is your site content. this is what is out there people and we need to be up-to-some-kind- of-par!...Amen! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. "Anyone else who wants this reply - We need this feature

Madusha"
I agree. It would give creators the chance to have a page just for administrator jobs. Also, this would give creators the freedom to lock a page with a password until it is completely finished.
