Check out the Search Engine Optimization Guide (I moved your comment there). To use images you find on the web just grab the URL for the image or save the image to your computer and then use the EasyEdit feature to add it to your site. Be sure that you don't use copyrighted images unless you have permission from the owner.See the how to add an image page for more info: http://wetpaintcentral.wetpaint.com/page/Add+Image 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Be sure that you don't use copyrighted images unless you have permission from the owner. After some care and feeding my site's pages are now ranked pretty well in Google. From what I can tell three things made a difference. First, I heavily linked my home page to other key pages on the site as Jason suggests. Second, I named my pages contextually. For example, my site is on James Bond. I have a page on James Bond quotes, but I did not simply name the page 'quotes' I named the page 'James Bond Quotes' as that is more specific and more likely to return quality results. Third, and most importantly I believe, I got other James Bond sites to link to my site. All the research shows that external links pointing to your site matters a ton in Google. So, I created a page on my site called 'Links & Resources' where I offer to swap links with other James Bond sites. I also emailed a few site owners pro-actively by searching for other sites. You can check out my site here: http://www.jamesbondwiki.com/ I also recommend checking out the search engine optimization page Jeremy posted. http://wetpaintcentral.wetpaint.com/page/Search+Engine+Optimization I hope this helps! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. This question was asked a million times and I assume it's gonna be asked a million times more... so, keep asking it... no problem...First: linking is a good way to start. googlebots see links from one site to another like votes of popularity or something like that. also, submitting your sites to search engines helps: try this one: http://www.submitexpress.com/ I only discovered it also: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl should help. and sites with a lot of traffic are higher on results... so, improve your site! Hope this helped. Good luck! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
