Applying a template

It would be good if you could apply a template once a page has been created. I know this could be tricky, but I have just created non-templated pages and now want to apply the picture template 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I second this. Since sometimes Wetpaint is a bit slow to copy the template content into a new page, it's easy to click the "Add Page" button too soon, and accidentally create a blank page. It would be good to be able to apply a template after the page is created, even if it wipes out all of the content in that page. Do you find this valuable?

If you've already created a page and want to use the template content for it, just go to the template you want, and copy and paste the content to the new page. Do you find this valuable?

Applying these steps manually is what I am doing at the moment. Since the whole idea of templates is to automate this kind of thing, it would be nice if it I could "apply" a template after page creation. Think of it this way.. all the other fields in the "Add a new page" dialog box, such as location, page name, and tags, can be specified after the page is created - why not applying a template also? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Good point. I'll check with the development team and see if this is something that we can possibly do in a future release. Do you find this valuable?
