I want to make an area on my site that anyone can edit or make pages on whiel still keeping the original permissions for the rest of the site.
Can anyone help me?

You could lock the pages you don't want anyone else to edit. I'm assuming that might be what your "original" permissions are for the rest of the site.

Check out the Help page: http://wetpaintcentral.wetpaint.com/help#top and scroll down to the section called "Working with a Site". You'll see some specific help pages for learning who can do what on your site, based on the permission settings you choose.

thanks but thats not what I'm looking for. The original permissions are invited only but I want certain sections to be able to be edited by anyone.
What I'm thinking about is trying to modify the permissions for certain templates by changing the html. this will only work if permissions are client based though.

The only way to do what you want at this point would be to change your permissions scheme so that it is no longer invite only and then just lock the pages you do not want to be edited. We hope to eventually enhance the permissions features to have more control on a page by page basis. For now, permissions settings apply to the entire site. Do you find this valuable?
