What's wrong with Grooveshark Widgets?

Hello, WPC Staff!I can't seem to upload a Grooveshark widget to my website... I've uploaded 2-3 playlists before but for some reason it's not working!!! The error message comes out like this after I enter the embed code for widgets marked as 'Other': "This appears to be an invalid widget. We support widgets that contain either an Embed tag for Flash content or that are contained within an IFRAME. Please check the code and try again." Do you find this valuable? |

When I try to put the IFRAME tags on the HTML for the embed code, the error message comes out like this: This appears to be an invalid widget. Please enter the complete IFRAME tag and try again.Do you find this valuable? |

Grooveshark has changed their embed code making it no longer compatible with Wetpaint.Do you find this valuable? |

Ah... I see! That's unfortunate. After doing an extra bit of late-night research, I found that their embed codes have, indeed, been changed... and not even Grooveshark's Help/ Support section is up-to-date. Is there some other website that I can use besides Grooveshark, Playlist.com, LastFM, Mixpod.com, or Music.com that will allow me to create an uploadable widget with the proper embed codes? I've searched all over the Internet for a suitable alternative to Grooveshark, but I cannot find any. :( The only reason that I don't want to have to rely on Playlist.com is because the playlists don't load for me (at all) and I cannot add music to them. I shall address this issue with the Playlist.com support team on their Forums, but in the meantime, do you have any sites that you would recommend me using (as a replacement for Grooveshark/ Playlist)?

Hey Grand!It's sad. I used Grooveshark myself before in the past. I might contact them and ask if they could possibly add the option of using their old embed code along side the new embed code. Anyways, if you will visit my test page, you'll see a music box by Podsnack: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Clay's+Test+Page There are others on there, but they are invisible for some odd reason. If you can see them and I can't, something's wrong. Anyways, it's the blue one with Alexandra Stan and All Time Low on it. (Along with others.) If you like what you see, use it as a widget: http://www.podsnack.com/ It's simple, and free. NOTE: When you're done making your personal touches to the playlist, and it gives you options on how to embed, there are three options: Free Embed, Embed, and Download. Choose Free Embed. (Yes, underneath Embed it says 'for HTML & Flash', but it's for premium users only. -Clay Do you find this valuable? |

Oh my goodness, I love the setup for the Podsnack playlist! :D It's much more visually appealing than the pre-made Grooveshark widgets! Thanks a bajillion, Clay!Also, I think it would be a great idea for us to contact Grooveshark.com to give users the option of using the new, updated embed codes, or the old ones. I wonder what it would take for their programmers to follow through with this... should we create a roster of users that want the old embed codes reinstated? Perhaps we could bring up the issue on Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, etc., and get a crowd of supporters? Do you find this valuable? |

***Almost a Month Later***I doubt you will ever come back to this thread Grand, but I would just like to announce I got a hold of Grooveshark's Development Team, and the Development Team will be giving their Community Developer the directions on how to edit the code to try to get it to work on here. She should have these directions later today and send them my way. Hopefully we will get the Grooveshark Widgets working again. :-) -Clay Do you find this valuable? |
