I may have a solution to slowness.
Jan 13 2012, 3:13 PM EST
I know this will sound crazy, but it is only a suggestion. What if Wetpaint is over site capacity? There is a chance that the network is struggling to find the information on all the sites. There IS a lot... Sorry if this clogs up room but maybe you can consider my suggestion. :)I'm not signed in, but this suggestion was brought to you by... moongaze_warrior and Bluestar12343 Do you find this valuable? |

That is a good suggestion, but there is no capacity for how many sites it can hold. There is Disk Space they can run out of, which happened last year, and the sites were automatically put into read-only mode (Maintenance Mode) until Wetpaint increased the Disk Space to add more room for sites.Wetpaint's Tech, Tony, has a few ideas to help make things run more smooth and will be looking into it in the next week or two. Once they know what is causing it, and has come up with a fix, they will provide us Moderators with a follow-up of what is going on, and more information. But again, good suggestion, and your post didn't clog up room either. -Clay Do you find this valuable? |

How'd you do that? Oh, never mind, you used code. Never knew you could do that. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I really hope the slowness can be fixed, I'd really thought my site was overloaded or something and was looking for a new way to store it.I'm working on something very important to me and the site has been near unusable for months now due to each page taking up to a minute to load. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. As stated in a previous thread, this type of problem is difficult to locate. Up to this point in time,Wetpaint has not been able to identify what area that is creating the slow response. I have talked to Wetpaint and there is nothing that the wikis are doing to add to this problem, such as activity, constant spamming, repeated refreshing as once thought to be a contributing factor. Until such time when the programmers of Wetpaint figure out what area is causing the delay and how to fix it, we will have to remain patient and wait. I will be locking this thread because there is nothing to be said to answer the problem or to give as to a time when it will be fixed. Watch the system status on the home page for updates to the slowness issue. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
