Media in threads

I've already figured out how to add photos into threads, but how do you change front, text color, and font layout? If someone could answer this for me that would be great! Do you find this valuable?

The process of putting media into threads is not supported function of Wetpaint. I suggest you seek you answers from the person who taught you the process and not here.

Thank you CryingDove. The person who informed me had actually spoke of it being possible to conduct through a process wetpaint had introduced. However, I had never heard of it before so I wanted to see for myself. I now see that they must have been misled. Thank you again. Do you find this valuable?

Although there is a way to run a custom script, which will allow for you to publish images and other data inside the comments, we try to keep this script private from public access, as it could be used in a malicious way.

There's also a chance that, if I am correct, modifying the Wetpaint comment system is against the Terms of Service, specifically section 6. PROPRIETARY RIGHTS - Software.
"You agree not to copy, distribute, sell, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or create derivative works from any Software. "

So, just to be on the safe side, it's advised for you to not try and find this script online, as it may put your Wetpaint account at risk.

Putting your Wetpaint account at risk? No, no, no. But being used in a malicious way, that is correct, which is why it is recommended (NOTE: Recommended, not required) that people who know how to do this keep their mouths zipped and not go flaunting the secret away. (Though it is on a wiki, and can easily be found.) People just perfer not to explain how to do this.

Us Moderators have used it in front of Jeremy, and haven't gotten in trouble. If it IS actually in violation of the Terms Of Service, we would have gotten into trouble long ago, but we haven't, so Jeremy obviously doesn't care.

Unless you use it in a malicious way, you wont get your account in trouble by using it.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was only going by what the terms of service said.

I know people have been using it for a while, and I'm aware that the moderators have been using the script directly in front of Wetpaint staff, but I didn't think the regular members were allowed to use the script, as it would count as 'modifying' the software, would it not?

It may very well count as such, but Rich (a.k.a CryingDove) used it back when he was a Registered User, and not an Administrator or Moderator. Anyone can use it, it is just not recommended users use it, or tell others how to, for it could get into the wrong hands, and mess up Wetpaint. Imagine: Porn spammers posting pictures in threads from profiles on porn sites onto the wikis. That would be horrible. That is why you should only tell others if you trust that person 100%. No doubt in your mind that you can trust them not to blab it away to random people, and not use it for malicious intent. If you have even just the slightest doubt, i'd recommend not telling them.

Thanks you very much for the information Naru :) Though, personaly it does not seem like much of a harmful ability unless the program itself is capable of blocking the default wetpaint censors. Otherwise isnt it already possible to post links to vulger sites and images in normaly formated threads? However, either way it would be the responsibility of the administration to manage these types of threads by disposing of them quickly and banning the member responsible.
