Help!!! I am in a crisis!!

You see.... Whenever I make a table and then leave my profile, and then come back to it, something always changes. The picture might move, the text isn't their, my banner becomes inactive, it is beginning to annoy me. Please explain what it might be........

Two areas of Wetpaint wikis that are most troublesome are Profiles and Tables. There is no explanation as to why they have issues. But there are some practices that you can use to minimize problems in when using tables and working with profiles.

PROFILES
1. Never use two layout zones on your profile. This will eventually cause problems.
2. If there is a lot of content on your profile, always assure the content loads to its completion before hitting the Easy Edit button. If this is not done, some content may be lost, when you save your profile edits.

TABLES
1. Tables are great to organize your content, but they can be a pain sometime. Here are some of the problems you may see when using tables.
a...custom table cell colors will change when you click the cell. FIX= Always set your cell colors right before saving your changes.
b...tables move FIX=when working with nested tables always set the width of the table manually. Do not use "Fit to Page". This will minimize issues with table placement.
c...text missing or incorrect. FIX= This may be a result of the last release of software. When content is copied and pasted into a table, the cursor will go to the very top of the table. This will catch many off-guard and it may overwrite content at the top of the table. FIX=always look to see where the cursor I-bar is located before adding content after pasting.

BACKING UP YOUR PROFILE
Another practice to use is to backup your profile. Wetpaint does not have a history feature where you can restore Profiles as with pages to a previous version. Here is a way to backup your profile.

1. Easyedit your profile and select all (CTR:-A) and copy the content (CTRL-C).

2. If you have the proper permissions, create a new page on your wiki and paste (CTRL-V) the content of your profile to that page and lock the page.

3.Move the page to uncategorized to store your profile.

4. If you do not have permissions or you do not want to clutter your wiki, you can simply create a new wiki, and have the new wiki as a place to store your profile.

5. Paste the copied profile to a page and when needed it can be copied and pasted back to your original profile.
