Why can I change the color of some links but not others? Do you find this valuable?

When dealing with changing the color of links it is always best to link to some text. Color the text first, save the page, re-edit the page, and apply the link. Otherwise you will experience being able to change link colors on some and not others. Just the nature of this beast. Do you find this valuable?
