Summary of recent issues 08-22-11

Outstanding issues since the July 22 roll-out.1. Significant degradation of page/site/updates load times. Alexa.com says "Average Load Time for Wetpaint.com Very Slow (3.93 Seconds), 91% of sites are faster. Recently Wetpaint has gone far beyond the quoted 3.9 seconds for many of the navigational functions. Many take minutes to perform now. 2. Scaling Video Widgets http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/thread/4689147/Problem+with+scaling+video+widgets 3. Ordered by filter problem (Due to the parsing of "/#fbid=MRxx_38-PSp" to the URL of on wikis having Technology, Games, or Entertainment categories selected http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/thread/4712042/Member+filtering 4. Pasting into Tables ( cursor returns to x=0 y=0 absolute position of the table, after pasting) http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/thread/4692298/Pasting+into+Tables 5. Changing domain names, renders existing slideshows useless with a source error on loading the widget. Existing slideshows, have both the old and new URL references in the widget code. Newly created slideshows work fine. 6. Fonts not displaying properly. Kerning of the fonts change with each font, but the font face does not, with exception of Courier. 7. Table Copy Copying from a non-fixed width coded page with no horizontal scroll bar, with tables set to "fit to page" onto a Wetpaint Fixed Width coded page ("class="WPC-fixedWidth") creates a significant horizontal scroll bar after the paste. All tables have to be manually adjusted and not set to "fit to page", to remove the scroll bar, although the original page did not have a scroll bar. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

8. Registered Users at one time were able to embed Youtube videos to their profiles on a Writer Only wiki. Now they cannot. (see this page on WPC http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Sites+That+Require+Invitation )

FIXED - - - Thanks for removing the routine described in Item #3. One less thing to load when visiting pages on those categorized wikis. And the ordered lists are working again

FIXED - - Line #1 seems to have been addressed after the major problem of loading pages was fixed. We are back to the normal slowness of navigation. Most of us can deal with the average of 3.9 seconds of loading pages.
