Private sites
Aug 11 2011, 6:21 PM EDT
I've been reading here on WPC some of the threads on private sites but am a bit confused. I built a private wetpaint site some years ago and it was closed to anyone outside the members from viewing the content.I am trying to build a training site but don't want any of the content to bee seen by anyone apart from those who would be allowed to join, is this still possible? Thank you Do you find this valuable? |

I'm no expect on private sites, but I locked one of my dead sites as private. If you're not a member when you sign in you'll see nothing except "Please contact the person who invited you for registration" or something like that. Anyone who is not a member of your private wiki won't see any threads, pages, messages, etc.

I'm not sure, but I think Wetapaint don't have private sites anymore. Send a message to jeremy.

Setting a wiki to private still exists. If you are an admin or creator, go to SETTINGS and select the PERMISSIONS tab. Then select Members only: Only people who have previously joined your site can view it. This will set your wiki to a private state and only those that are members will be able to see the content of your wiki. Beware, there are no invites to private wikis. In order for new members to join the wiki has to be made public for them to join and then make the wiki private again. This is the only way to allow new members to the wiki. "Setting a wiki to private still exists.Thank you, that's fine. As long as the content can't be viewed by those outside the site, that's the main thing. Thanks again I'll give that a go. Regards Joe Do you find this valuable? |
