Wetpaint had a recent problem with photo management. This has been corrected. There were many members alerting WP with issues of adding photos, profile photos, slideshows, albums and other areas with regards to photos. You may have been experiencing your problem during that time.If you are still having the problem, please post back here and we will see if we can find an answer for you. Do you find this valuable? |

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I was aware of the photo problem but we are still experiencing issues with the slideshows even tho that has been fixed. Check out our home page at the bottom : http://www.thetudorswiki.com/#fbid=FmaZti50C6j

The error message as follows: "Security error (not sourced from a Wetpaint location)" leads me the error is related to the issues Wetpaint had recently with not being able to correctly address their internal DNS. I have joined your wiki and added a couple of the slideshows to my profile without errors. Try deleting and re-adding the slideshow on your home page. Do you find this valuable? |

On the 27 of July 2011, your wiki got a new domain name. It is http://www.theturdorswiki.com. It used to be http://tudorswiki.sho.com. This I think is where the problem lies. The old slideshow widgets reflect the old domain address with the dot sho in it (which gives the security error). The newly created slideshows reflect the present domain address (and work properly).I will contact Jeremy_wetpaint and report this issue for you. He can then pass this along to the developers and see what they have to say about it. Do you find this valuable? |

yes I knew about the domain change....and that makes sense. I hope they can somehow redirect because it really is a very big job. Just to find the slideshows, there is no way of putting in a search for the name of the slideshow. You would have to laboriously just go to each slideshow one after the other. Thanks for your help.

I passed the technical information along to JEremy. He said he would talk to the developers and see if they could do something with the many slideshows you have on the wiki. We will have to wait until we hear back from him as to the problems you are seeing.Hang in there. Do you find this valuable? |

So I ended up just deleting the slideshows. I guess if this sort of thing can happen, the slideshows aren't worth using.

I would not give up on slideshows. I have been helping out the community for 4 years now. During that period of time, there has been no others reporting what happened to your wiki. Your wiki was a custom wiki built with specialized code for Wetpaint's partnered client Showtime. This could have had something to do with the code that I saw. Now that you have cleared the problem by recreating the slideshows, I do not see any problems you may face when you renew your custom domain name if you choose to do so.Through my troubleshooting I was able to identify to Wetpaint where and why the problem was occurring in the HTML code for you wiki. Hopefully they (WP) will look into this anomaly so that it cannot happen again. Do you find this valuable? |
