Suggestion about wolf RP
Jun 25 2011, 7:22 PM EDT | Post edited: Jun 25 2011, 7:22 PM EDT
Since there are so many wolf RPG packs out there on Wetpaint, I think you should have a top pack contest. Such as the usual process of leaving a thread with the pack name, and others saying, "I second this." And list the top 10 packs out there? That'd be pretty fun. :D If that were to happen, I'd happily get the word out to all the packs I know of that would be able to enter and have a chance. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

That is a great idea. Why not set up a new wiki for this particular venture. Have a Wolf RP contest on that new wiki. Then you can tell everyone to vote on their favorite Wolf RP site. After a period of time, a list of the top RP sites can be made and displayed on that wiki. And you can spread the word to all the Wolf RP wikls to vote using threads as you mentioned. You can also look to giving awards on that wiki for the best Wolf RP. Perhaps a badge the winner(s) can display on their wiki.

Sorry, but I am strongly against your idea.
Why should wikis that are made for kids to role-play wolves be able to have their own contest? Because these kind of wikis are popular? That is extremely unfair to wikis of other categories.

Wolf RPG "packs", lmfao.

Um, other categories can deal with not having contest if they don't ask? Do you find this valuable?

That does sound like great fun. Just like the other contest for top 100 wikis and the golden can awards(I think that exists, might not lol). Personally I've found myself only on wolf rp sites after a while. I think these sites deserve the chance for a spot light. Do you find this valuable?

Wetpaint is not going to offer lists as suggested in this post. Reply #2, hints at creating "A WOLF RP COMMUNITY HI-LIGHT WIKI" to run contests and creating favorite Wolf RP wiki lists. NOT waiting on Wetpaint to provide it for you. Here are some more hints on how to set the wiki up.
1.Have people post a thread with the address of the RP wiki of their choice. Then others can vote on that thread with the "Do you find this valuable" Yes or No buttons.
2. The thread with the highest count would be number 1, Second highest number 2..etc
3. Have one of your graphic artists create a badge that can be sent to participants. e.g. First annual "Wolf Bite Badge"
4. A contest could be used to honor the best wolf rp site utilizing any criteria you would like. Best pack, Best alpha male, Best alpha female...and so forth.
5. Highlight the winning wiki with links to their wiki or a page setup to showcase the best story or the best pack from that wiki....Simple imagination is required.

Since most Wolf RP wikis are difficult to separate from one another (To me they are all the same). Look for one's that are totally unique and interesting.

But the bottom line here is: YOU MUST CREATE the content you are asking Wetpaint to provide for you. If you wait on Wetpaint to provide it, you will be waiting a long long time.

I'm not a wolf-RPer, but adults RP too. In fact, probably more than kids.
How is it unfair? Whats not to say a bunch of gaming websites could make a wiki for a contest of who has the best gaming site? If the people of that category are not willing to put the effort it, it's not "unfair", its being lazy. Its kind of like capitalism. Work hard to achieve things, and you will get somewhere.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And obviously Wetpaint will not and cannot help. They are too "busy" and short-staffed to do the WP 100, let alone do a specific contest. Wolf-RPers, do as CryingDove suggested, without help from WP, and you can make a great contest.

As Captain Spaz is running the wetpaint awards, maybe he could be of some help. Maybe winners should be chosen by an independant group of members who aren't involved in role play. Do you find this valuable?

That sounds like a good idea. We could build a new Wetpaint community site where we all vote, or use the Golden cans awards one.
