Can you format text within a message that you're sending to users on your site? Do you find this valuable?

I really don't think there is any way to do that at all, even using scripts, but if anyone knows of any way, please post. I'd like to know as well. Do you find this valuable?

You could probably edit the HTML of the message you send, but the platform lacks the functionality to display that custom formatting when the recipients open the messages.
