COPA?
May 18 2011, 7:48 PM EDT
The Supreme Court mercifully struck the Act down in ACLU v. Reno (1997), but the concept of the bill was revived with the Child Online Protection Act (COPA) of 1998, which criminalized any content deemed "harmful to minors." Courts immediately blocked COPA, which was formally struck down in 2009.Why is it still followed by Wetpaint? 7 out of 7 found this valuable. Do you? |

You are correct in you statement about COPA...Wetpaint adheres to COPPA which has never been challenged in the court system. Please read about the FDA's COPPA standards that Wetpaint adheres to.http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/coppafaqs.shtm Do you find this valuable? |

COPA is sometimes confused with COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which remains in force and limits the ability of sites to offer services to those aged twelve and under without explicit parental consent

No, it's UNDER 13, which is what anonymous stated. They said ages of 12 and below, meaning all ages under 13. :)-Cam 5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |
