Add Google Sitemaps to wetpaints?
Jan 19 2007, 8:54 AM EST It would be really nice if WetPaint was supporting the google sitemaps. Basically, the requirements are fairly simple: - ability to create an empty file named Google123456789.html (custom filename provided by Google for validation purpose). - publishing a sitemap linking the wiki pages. Thanks in advance, Joannes 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jan 26 2007, 3:44 PM EST Wetpaint submits sitemaps to Google automatically. The feature you're talking about is not Google sitemaps, but rather site verification. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Jan 26 2007, 4:13 PM EST If sitemaps are already provided to Google, then yes, the only part left is the site verification. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Add Google Sitemaps to wetpaints?
Mar 22 2007, 7:05 AM EDT I second this. Yes, what is being discussed here is the Google site verify step that is needed before Google Webmaster Tools will tell me about how people discover the site. This is really useful information, and I check it for my other (non-wiki) sites. I can tell, for example, what search terms people are using to find the site, what PageRank is being given to the site, etc. Without it, it's really hard to do proper SEO. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. RE: Add Google Sitemaps to wetpaints?
Mar 23 2007, 11:59 AM EDT We actually do this on our end already, but we'd like to make these things available to the users as well. Our SEO person is totally into the idea. We still need to do a bit of research on the logistics of actually implementing this kind of feature though. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
