"Apply to be a writer"?

Hi,

I am the creator of an "invite only" site and i wonder what happens if a registered user clicks on "apply to be a writer"? Does he become a writer then or do i first have to approve him as a writer then?

He will be presented with a form asking him why he'd like to be a writer. He will fill it out, then send it. You will be presented with the choice to either accept or deny it.

It does not automatically make them a writer.

Find Writer Requests here:
Updates > tab Writer Requests > click on their profile to Change Permissions (to Writer status, etc.)

Adding to Jivanda's comment, you also get email notifications when someone replies (unless you have the notifications disabled).

"Where do you find the "Choice to accept it?" "
If you are a moderator or above, you will see a tab under Updates, titled Writer Requests. Clicking on the Writer Requests will give a list of those applying to be a writer. To Accept, click on their user name and change their permissions on their profile page.

If you are not a moderator or above you will not see the tabs.
