Need a browser for iPad that will support Easy Edit on Wetpaint

There's no Firefox for iPad, unfortunately. So what can I use to be able to edit my Wetpaint wiki from an iPad? I tried Mercury, which is supposed to be able to emulate Firefox or IE 7 and 8, but I still can't edit text in Easy Edit. It will let me change font color. Thanks in advance! 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

What you are describing is the fail of Ipad and Safari. The Safari browser is not supported by Wetpaint. IE or Firefox emulators are designed for previewing webpages only. You have to find an emulator that will support javascripting. That is important for using your ipad with wetpaint.
There are a couple of on-line emulators that can be brought up on your iPad to browse the internet. I am not certain if they allow editing. There is also an emulator that can be found on iTunes.

Again, I am not certain of A1 Perfect's javascript capabilities.

Hope this assists you in finding a solution, that many iPad owners are looking for.

Even if there was, there is still the need for Adobe Flash on some things, which sadly, Adobe and Apple are not friendly toward each other. The message you get is:

Flash Player not available for your device.
Apple restricts the use of technologies required by products like Adobe Flash player. Until Apple eliminates these restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flash Player for the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

It is the fail of Wetpaint! No education blogs that are cost efficient AND their unwillingness to adapt with safari. They are cutting half their target audience. Poor move.

The problem on not having Safari work with Wetpaint is not a Wetpaint problem. Wetpaint's easy editor along with other functions require Adobe Flash player. Apple mobile devices such as iPads do not support Adobe Flash player. Wetpaint has worked with Apple over the last 4 years to bring full support of Adobe Flash player to function with Safari to no avail. That is why the recommended browser for ppc devices like the G4,G5 and Macbook, is Firefox for the MAC. For mobile devices there are some browser apps that can support flash player. There are "jailbreaks" too,,but they put your device at risk if something should go wrong.

Wetpaint wikis are offered FREE to all. Wetpaint offers this free in exchange for advertisements placed on wiki pages to gather revenues from such advertising. The issue of Educational wikis can be brought back to the schooling district's restrictions on advertising. The dollar amount placed on "Ad-Free" customization was deemed appropriate to support the loss of revenue that would otherwise be gathered.
