What can I do
Mar 18 2011, 9:03 PM EDT | Post edited: Mar 18 2011, 9:03 PM EDT
I have a member on my wiki who has created 3 other false accounts and is actually the creator on a wetpaint 100 wiki under a 4th false account. In all the person has 5 fake accounts and has tried to trick the people on my website 4 times. What should I do? Do you find this valuable?

The term for a person that does this is known as "Sock Puppet". If the person is not creating any harm on your wiki with the exception of posting under different monikers, I would not concern myself with them.
If this person is bothersome to you, you can confront them with your concerns and tell them you would prefer only one account per person on your wiki. Ask them which other accounts they have and which ones they prefer to be banned from the wiki.
It is up to you and your moderation team to decide what to do in this situation. Wetpaint will only advise you and they will not take any action on your behalf.

Well on one of their accounts, I was harassed and cyberbullied a lot so I dropped that account and used my sister's account who doesn't go on wetpaint anymore so they couldn't find me and cyberbully me. I even made a new wiki and everything. And now the person seems to have gussed its me, I'm afraid if the find out its me they will harass me and cyberbully me again. I was thinking of making my wiki private for a while but we really need members and I can't stand for this to happen again. Do you find this valuable?

If the user is harassing you and/or cyber bullying, you will need to report them. See this page for more information: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Harassment+and+Cyberbullying

You can block the user, and ban all their accounts. If they continue to harass you, then you can email info@wetpaint.com and get them IP Banned, or Global Banned (From all wikis) for cyberbullying.

Hope this helps resolve your issue.

Thank you. This person also has had a lot of the members from their wetpaint 100 site come to my old site and harass me ther ebefore and my other members. Saying innapropriate things, we lost a lot of members and we banned like 10 users every day. It happenend all the time and so I just closed my site down.

Now that the member is back and has found my new site, it just scares me. In all, I've proably had about 6 people who have harassed me the most. One of them has even harassed me through message on here.

I will take your advice and e-mail wetpaint, Global-Banning may do the trick for a couple of these members.

On their 100 site, they ban members that haven't done anything just because they think they're annoying. Of course its their wiki and they have the right to do that and ban who they like but when they do that, they harass them on all their other sites and try to get them banned everywhere, and on their banned slogans they will put threats and profanity there. It's really getting bad. I would sign into my account and tell you this but I don't want the person to see who I am and this thread and harass me. One of them also has mulitple accounts on here and about 3 of my harassers are under the age of 13.
