Ware are we ?

There are several types of wares regarding computers and the internet.1. Software = We love these little apps. They can do things we simply cannot live without. Like Spellchecker and chat boards and social networks. "I'm Lovin It" 2. Hardware = Human memories are always the weakest link, so we need some place to put our stuff and get it back quickly when we want it. 3. Malware = These are produced by idiots with nothing else to do. After they pick their nose clean, they get bored and create programs that irritate people. Sorta like flies. 4. Spamware = Again by idiots with a bad product, service or website that cannot get any attention from their own merits, so they make garbage that no one even looks at and they send it out to you. 5. Vaporware = These are programs or features that appear for a while, then disappear. Sorta like the Todo list, the Save thread as Page feature, contests, lists and others. 6. Diaperware = Good progs or features that are filled with "@#ds". The developers never looked at the finished product (the end in this case). Users want the feature but the developers got lost and didn't know " The difference between their butts and a hole in the ground".and the diaperware just hangs around and stinks. e.g. Tables, email notification system, text attribute and my favorite WYSIWYG editor. 7. Hamperware = This is where Diaperware ends up. Waiting for someone to come along and clean the crap up. Until that happens, the end user is hampered from doing what the software claims can be done. 8. Thereware = This is a collection of links to sites to investigate if one has to migrate to another farm. Sorta like keeping an up-to-date resume in your desk drawer. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
