"It was a joke. Database slaves are just copies of the master database. I was making a play off of the traditional meaning of slave because slaves aren't paid, and you typically get what you pay for. I was insinuating that our "slaves" aren't working correctly because they are unpaid. But of course they are hard drives which don't get paid.
