Making Accounts
Jan 16 2011, 5:07 PM EST
I think when creating a wetpaint account you should ave to verify the account by e-mail. You know like when you put in your e-mail, a message shall be sent to that e-mail and you'll have to go into your e-mail and approve of it in able to use your account. There has been millions of wetpaint users who like to mess with websites and harass websites by making a fake account with a fake e-mail. This is how some sites get messed up when a creator promotes someone who is really an enemy under another username. I know all the person has to do is create or use another e-mail but this may stop some cases of harassment. Thank you for reading. Do you find this valuable? |

Yes, this suggestion would be quite handy. As a matter of fact, talking about this feature for another matter, I added it to my 'Anti-Spam Suggestions'. Here:http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/thread/4403913/Anti-Spam+Measures Also, this has been moved to the suggestions forum. Do you find this valuable? |

"There has been millions of wetpaint users who like to mess with websites and harass websites by making a fake account with a fake e-mail."I have to agree- There was a coup at one site using this tactic. Do you find this valuable? |

Well, I suppose it DOENSN’T, lol. But it would make it more difficult. You could ask Crying_Dove (he knows more about this terms than I), but it’s called a “Sock Puppet”, creating multiple usernames to try to get something through the system. For example, creating multiple usernames to put advertising on a site; Or to get enough “members” to vote one way or another on an issue to get a policy change, even though it’s really just one person.
