Adding Photos On Threads

I see people adding diffrent text fonts on threads, and pictures. I would like to know how to do this. When I open up my photo files, and drag a photo into an open thread, the photo pulls open a whole new page, and I havw to click the Back button. Can somone please help?

It is possible for people to put things like this into threads, however this feature is kept secret so that the ability does not fall into the hands of spammers. Only a handful of people know this secret.The reason we don't want it to fall into the hands of spammers is that it could make their job a lot easier. They could put things like Redirects into threads, therefore making it impossible to remove the thread. Do you find this valuable? |

Oh, well, I could garantee I'm not a spammer, xD bu thats for the info! :) Do you know where I could find out? Me and Zeira are trying to find out. Like SapphireTail adds pictures, diffrent fonts, and all that stuff, so I just thought it would be cool xD.

Well, if you ask SapphireTail, she will probably be willing to tell you. I know the secret myself, but I don't know if I'm authorised to tell anyone, so you're probably better off asking someone else.Or just leaving it. After all, curiousity killed the cat. Or in this case, Wetpaint. Do you find this valuable? |

I also know of an extremely easy way to post pictures and videos on threads which was basically made up and spread by two savvy members of two wikis I go to. The practice is pretty widespread there, although I know it doesn't work on all wikis, but it clearly does on most of them. However, whenever outside people ask me about this stuff, I also feel reluctant in telling them about it because I know that Wetpaint doesn't exactly "condone" it 100% and I don't want to hurt the company. I didn't know about the exact reasons until I read this thread, though, but I understand a little better now. Spam is indeed a big concern these days. Malware on profile pages has been enough as it is, so indeed you don't need it on threads as well. However, like I said, I would really like to know exactly how much I am allowed to spread the word or not. Maybe only through PM's to other users I got to know well and I trust? Do you find this valuable? |

I was told by someone, and they didn't need permission. I think the entire 'Don't tell anyone' thing is based around trust. I suppose you can tell someone that you really trust, that you know won't spread the secret around carelessly.

Well, you could always ask Jeremy, but don't expect to get a response for at LEAST a few weeks. He's extremely busy at the moment, probably fixing bugs. He's so busy he asked me not to advertise custom navigation, simply because he doesn't have time to do it.I would advise asking Jeremy, once the bugs are gone and email notifications are re-enabled. When one of those sites was active over 2000 member were exposed to the "Secret". There are still 500 members still left on that site. The other site has 50 member that know. Can you imagine how many visitors there were that didn't even join that have been exposed?Do you find this valuable? |
