Comment Moderation
Dec 4 2010, 7:50 PM EST | Post edited: Dec 4 2010, 7:51 PM EST
Lately I have noticed how some people post information I personally think is unnecessary / breaks my sites rules. I don't want to delete their entire comment, but instead edit / remove the section of their comment that breaks the rules. (For example, if someone writes a very useful comment, but includes an email address / website, I would edit their comment and remove the email address / website. This way I don't have to delete their entire comment)

Is it possible for this feature to be added in the future?

That is a good suggestion. In the meantime, what you can do is as follows: I will show examples here:

If the objectionable comments are in the original thread, you can copy and paste the content into a new thread and give credit for the post.

See this thread.

Or if it the thread contains a reply, you can quote and reply to the post. Then edit the quote as needed and delete that reply. See below. I did not delete reply #1, simply edited the quote. Quote by cryingdove edited for unnecessary comments.

Thank you for the suggestion, and I have been doing that for a while.
However, the feature I requested would make comment moderation much more helpful.
