NO NO NO! :'( What happned to 'Wetpaint'?
Sep 16 2010, 6:11 AM EDT | Post edited: Sep 16 2010, 6:20 AM EDT
Wetpaint what have you done? Wetpaint has now become what I feared it was heading towards since the end of 2009. The name 'Wetpaint' can no longer be associated with what it is now. I'm currently lost for words :( I can't even see the 'wiki' aspect of Wetpaint anymore and where is the create a wiki button disappeared to?

TV shows? I'm sorry but this is just spitting on all the millions of loyal users that have brought Wetpaint to the stage it is at now. Wetpaint.com, USED to be a place where hard working wetpainters were rewarded for their work now I don't even see a single 'fan' made wiki on there.

Just a money and traffic hungered new website. Where is the RESPECT to the users that helped you get here? Most of wetpaints money until around late 2008 was earned from advertising on user-made wikis, if it wasn't for them Wetpaint would have shut down years ago.

I can't believe this is what I return to on my 4th year at Wetpaint. For the first time in 4 years, you have greatly disappointed me wetpaint. I understand that all wikis are still fully functional but who are we kidding, it's not ever going to be the same as the good ol' days.

Just my opinion, yours may be different.

Yeah, I see what as a joke now, I am unhappy with the changes, but I can't say I am not using the new Wetpaint site. So I think I am so upset about the change, that I will hold off on creating and editing wikis for a while, and I think I am just going to stay updated on my favorite shows, one thing I am upset about is all these sweepstakes you have to be 18+, what the hell, Wetpaint is targeting older people now, ugh!

This new Wetpaint isn't very teen-friendly, I would love to see sites for Degrassi, and that new show, Gigantic both on TeenNick.

In conclusion, I am satisfied with the new Wetpaint, a change had to be made, Wetpaint was getting boring, I am glad they used this, and if you guys actually spend a few minutes on the site, you'll notice that you can't get any of this new technology anywhere on the web, and entire homepage devoted to TV shows, and different categories, I am sure Wetpaint loves to hear this, but reading this stuff online is better than watching The Soup, TMZ, and other shows like that, I just hope that they will start doing movies, and music artisits/groups soon, then for sure, I can see a TV network contacting Wetpaint in the near future, keep up the good work!

Andrew, i understand what you are saying. Wetpaint has now become a great new entertainment center but that's not what Wetpaint is. The defintion of the name 'wetpaint' no longer goes with what it is now. Wetpaint has used all the millions of wikis that got them here and compeltely hidden them. The word 'wiki' is no where to be seen. Hence the name wetpaint can not be used for what it is now. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Money. One word. Its sad though that people still can't find some wetpaint sites. That really needs to be fixed soon.

"They need the money to keep the business alive for us. "
Yes very true but it's just not right to make money the main focus and turn your back on what wetpaint really is. This new 'thing' what is it? I'm definitly not gona call it Wetpaint.

Well my intentions are not to try change their new ideas, if this is what wetpaint thinks is best for their buisness then fine. However i'm confident that almost all of wetpaints user base do NOT like what wetpaint has become. Im sure this is one update wetpaint will later greatly regret.

One can understand that a free site that this is still has to have income from somewhere. As long as we are supported by them things should go along as before...I hope. I thought the introduction of adds was suppose to support all the sites and help out wetpaint? This isn't helping?
And by the way, you can still start up a free website as the add is still there at the bottom of the page.

I always wanted to say something like that but I didn't know how to put it, thanks Madusha. ;)

This is nothing like the Wetpaint I joined 3 years ago.

It was deleted by accident. They are working on restoring it. Read the homepage for more info:

Wetpaint should at the least make a 'Featured Wikis' part on the homepage or subpage dedicated to wetpaint wikis. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
