READ BEFORE POSTING! Solutions to Recent Freezing Bug
Aug 22 2010, 3:54 PM EDT | Post edited: Aug 22 2010, 3:54 PM EDT
Since the old thread has become so cluttered with the same questions, answers, and solutions I decided that it would be much easier to read through a single page of ideas, than basically 9 of the same ones. The old thread will be locked, with all of the solutions being posted here. Read the whole thread before posting, if any questions are asked that have already been answered they will be deleted to prevent clutter.

Thanks again,
Shadowmlb

First off answering the common questions of when the problem will be fixed. Wetpaint employees do not work over the weekends meaning from Friday night to Monday morning no one is at the Wetpaint offices. Obviously this means Monday morning work will begin to correct the problem, this is when they will try to correct the problem. Keep that in mind, the problem may be solved rather quickly or it could take a day or two. No set time can be put into place, it is fixed when its fixed. They will work their hardest, but don't be demanding if it isn't fixed right away. Do you find this valuable?

Switching between browsers. Using different browsers has shown different results for different people. The highest success rate has been found using Google Chrome. You are free to try to use FireFox, Internet Explorer or Safari although not much success has been found with the three.

I used Google Chrome or Safari, but I'm missing editing features?
Simple, Chrome and Safari are not supported browsers on Wetpaint. This means that you will have limited features and may experience some minor problems. This isn't something that can be fixed and until the issue can be solved you may have to make due with what you have.

Using the "tab key" on will allow you to move from link to link on your site although this can take time to get to the link you actually may want. Once you have selected the link you want by hitting enter you will be able to activate that link.
Example: You tab to "Post Reply" and hit enter, this will allow you to post a reply.

Using AdBlcok Plus with FireFox Read: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/thread/4185182/Wetpaint+Glitch+Solution.+%7B%7B+Firefox+Users.+%7D%7D

Stopping the page from completely loading when it is almost done will allow you to navigate that page like normal. This can be tricky however because if you do it too soon some links will not function, but do it too late and you will be effected by the bug. Timing is key with this one, but if pulled off you can get around your site okay.

All of these solutions have worked for other members, although results have not been 100%. So it is possible these solutions will not work for you.

Using Safari on your iPod will allow your Wetpaint site to run like normal. However keep in mind your iPod will not be capable of editing, meaning while using your iPod you are limited to posting threads. iPads have not been shown to work.

Again this solution is not 100%.

Finally, the most common question anyone ever asks is:
Why is there nothing wrong with this site?

While you are free to make that assumption, if you aren't a moderator here you wouldn't be able to tell that we still have problems like every other member. Editing, using moderator tools, viewing profiles, etc. Some of the moderators here are using the solutions other members provided to allow us to do our tasks here. There are a few unlucky ones that still suffer from the problem though, so don't assume Wetpaint Central is in perfect condition right now because it is not.

If you have any additional ideas, questions, or solutions feel free to post them. We only wish to cover things once though, so if your post is suddenly deleted and you don't know why it is likely because it was already stated somewhere in this thread. Happy posting!
