Please Read Before Reporting A Clicking-Bug
Aug 20 2010, 9:32 PM EDT | Post edited: Aug 20 2010, 9:32 PM EDT
Hey there,

We're experiencing some technical difficulties at the moment that are rendering links in the Wetpaint interface unusable or un-clickable. Wetpaint is aware of the problem, however, it may take some time to resolve the glitches. In the mean time, please be patient, and if you have information that contributes to a possible solution, feel free to share your thoughts on this thread only. Do not post a new thread.

Thanks,
Kevin

For posting threads and editing pages it's still possible, but maybe a bit confusing.

For posting threads, if you click on the top line of the box where you type, you can get your curser to change like it normally would if you just hovered over the box.

For editing pages, it's a little more complicated. If you click in the address box in the top of the page and then hit Tab key until the dotted line appears around the Easy Edit button, you can hit Enter and you can edit the page.

Did that make any sense?

The GSR Wiki does not seem to be affected. I am a Moderator there and I have full access to all the tools and EasyEdit mode.

Alright, everything seems to work fine with Google Chrome. I just tried the reportings of problems. It seems Google Chrome does not have any problems using Moderator tools, links, page editing, and others. (It does for me anyways.) I would suggest using Google Chrome until Wetpaint fixes this. (Yes, Google Chrome is not FULLY supported, but, you can use it until Wetpaint fixes this.) Do you find this valuable?

I think random wikis were affected Phillip and are not supported with certain browsers. Here on WPC, you could not access Moderator Tools using IE or FF, but, if you use Google Chrome, you can use it just fine.

Okay, basically, wikis are being effected differently. You will just need to try out each browser and see which works for you. Do you find this valuable?

I believe that just switching browsers helps, though i haven't tried it, i know people who have. Unfortunetly I don't have another browser to swtich to at the moment, and i don't feel the need to download one. Do you find this valuable?

I use this as the workaround:
workaround
The text is "ads adsbackgroundData".

Like I mentioned in another thread it's because each page has this code at the end:
<div class="ads adsbackgroundData">
<script type="text/javascript">

if (window.GA_googleFillSlot) GA_googleFillSlot(wp_ads.backgroundData);
</script>
</div>
and adsbackgroundData defined in http://static.wetpaint.com/scripts/wpcss/core/c.css?20100820165907 has "z-index:10;".

Ya... seems we will just have to be paitient... though on Explorer the only problem i had was easyedit (which i solved by Tabbing till it was selected than hit enter) And making threads (Which I solved by clicking just before the boxes, at the end of the word but before the box) 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Guys, most of you just ignored what Kevin said in his post. Let me re-post it:
"and if you have information that contributes to a possible solution, feel free to share your thoughts on this thread only. Do not post a new thread."
I just went through and deleted replies that were not possible solutions. Please only post possible solutions as Kevin asked above. Thanks.

I have this problem too. I found that if you reload the page, and are quick about it, you can respond to messages and sign in. It works only for about 5 seconds, before it freezes up again. I used it to check my messages, but I could only do that. By the time (about 1 min 30 secs) i had finish responding to a thread, it had obviously froze and I couldn't send it. This sucks. Please wetpaint, fix this!! D: 3  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?
