Widget not showing up

Hello, this is Jynx from http://lunara.wetpaint.com/. :)I'm going to be doing a lot of work on this website, and eventually get a domain name. I've been with Wetpaint for a long time but the other day I noticed an important error. The virtual pet widgets that I was planning on using from http://bunnyherolabs.com/adopt/ aren't showing up on the site once I post them. They're there all right, they're just invisible. And this website being a virtual world, not having pets is a very big problem. I already checked the Help section and FAQ, but no dice. The widgets won't show up on my PC with the latest version of Firefox, or on my Mac, also with the most recent version of FF. So I doubt it's an issue with browser support or computers. I already tried reloading the page, that did not work either. On the page where it gives you all different tabs for different websites to post the widget's codes to (http://bunnyherolabs.com/adopt/finish.php?clr=0xc1ab13&cn=pet%20name&an=adopter%20name&mc=hedgehog.swf) I already tried all of those tabs- none worked. So it's not an issue with that. And these widgets have appeared on earlier sites I've made without a problem, but they're all of a sudden not showing up. :s Thank you very much for your help in advance, and for even taking a look at this. Do you have Ad Blocker plus for Firefox? If so, sometimes it blocks widgets automatically thinking they are advertisements, even when they are not.Another thing that could be preventing them is Script Blocker. What kind of code did you use, Iframe or embed? Iframes can also be quite problematic, as they are working off another site, merely a frame and not a widget. If the link between the Iframe and the site is broken, then the widget will be there but nothing will show up. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Thank you so much for taking a look at this and trying to help me. Okay, I do have Ad Blocker Plus and I disabled it, but they still do not show up. Through, when you mouse over them small tabs appear above the invisible widgets that read, "block", so I do have Ad Blocker. The codes are embed codes, not iframes, so we should be fine there. I will check to see if anyone else has had a problem just with these widgets recently. Any other possibilities? Do you find this valuable? |

Have you tried deleting the widget, then embedding it again? Sometimes there's a bit of a fault with embeds.

That didn't seem to work, either. I checked a couple of my old sites that had this widget on them and they were invisible, also. So it might have something to do with one of wetpaint's new releases.

I don't think so, all the widgets are working fine on my sites (http://www.scribblenautsguide.com/ and http://www.sporeillustrated.com/),even the Iframes which can be really unstable. In fact, the ads at the top of my homepage (Not the Wetpaint ads) are Iframes that are depending on three different sources, which to be honest could go horribly wrong. Maybe it's a bug with the supplier. Can you give me a link to the site you got the virtual pets from? I'll take a look, and see if they work for me. If not, chances are it's a problem with the site. Then you can email them and tell them that their widgets don't work properly with some hosts, like Wetpaint. Do you find this valuable? |

Thank you. Oh, and Spore is great. ;) I have the game for mac. Anyways, yeah, iframes don't sound very dependable. I'm pretty sure most games and game related widgets are embeds, but I don't know. http://bunnyherolabs.com/adopt/ That's the link for the pet widgets. If you ever need something like that, I'd strongly recommend those. :) I did email bunny hero labs, but I haven't received an email back from them yet.

I still need to update the Spore homepage, the current one is awful. And remove the spammers. As for your email, customer service can be quite slow. Usually it takes from a week to two weeks for them to reply. Especially if they are very popular.*EDIT* I have just embedded a pet cat onto the homepage of one of my sites. You are correct, it's there but it doesn't show up. And I have discovered it is indeed a problem with the site. If you right click on where the widget is (Well, supposed to be), it says 'Movie not loaded...' on the little menu. So definately a problem with the site, so I can no longer help you from here. I don't think it's all that bad. :p Okay, thanks so much for your help! I'll just hope and pray that they do reply eventually. :s You workers at Wetpaint Central are all extremely helpful. :) And the shocking thing is that you do it all for free. o.o Well, thanks again! :)
