Changing to the Fixed Centered Format
Jul 28 2010, 4:15 PM EDT
I have been waiting for five days for my three websites to be switched to the fixed centered format. I have all of my graphics and the new banners created but I am waiting until after the switch to add them up.I also plan to redesign my home pages after the switch is made, but I cannot do so until afterward. I would very much appreciate it if someone would switch the following three websites to the fixed centered format or at least create a patch update so that site creators can do it for themselves if they wish. I apologize for "advertising," because I'm sure you will see this as advertising. However, I have been ignored through private messages. Perhaps this method will work. The websites that need changing are: http://warriorscatsroleplay.wetpaint.com/ http://moderatorsofwarriorscatsroleplay.wetpaint.com/ (This site is private..not sure if that matters.) http://warrior-cats-role-play.wetpaint.com/ Do you find this valuable? |

There are two different format changes that were announced simultaneously:.1. The Fixed Centered Format - Which has gone into hiatus and will probably remain there for a long while. 2. The Fixed 1024 Width page display. This has not been rolled out to the public and for all wikis. But one can message jeremy_wetpaint and request the class="WPC-fixedWidth" change be put into place on your three wikis. Do you find this valuable? |

I am pretty sure that it is 1000px, not 1024px.

"I am pretty sure that it is 1000px, not 1024px."It is 1000. That is the length I used to make my banners fit exactly with the page on two of my sites that are already in this format. Do you find this valuable? |

My post was to clear up confusion about the two different page formats and how they were referenced, not the specifications of the different widths that Wetpaint announced back in Oct 2009.Here is a reference to the 1024 Fixed Width display showing the measurements put on WPC by Jeremy_wetpaint. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/photo/7655382/1024+pixel+width+page Here is another reference diagram put up by Wetpaint on WPC in the same time frame, known at the Fixed Centered Display. http://image.wetpaint.com/image/3/1CdeTpPiOwSp2aIVJzsxkA27113/GW612H792 The original post stated "I have been waiting for five days for my three websites to be switched to the fixed centered format" That will never come, trust me. That is why it has been put into hiatus. Whereas the 1024 Fixed Width format can be put into place via a request to Wetpaint. Do you find this valuable? |

"Yes, indeed. There lies the issue. "The time frame, one must wait until a request is fulfilled, must have several considerations to be looked at. 1. Is the person working on projects for partnered sites? 2. Are they creating the navigational bar, code changes for those that have requested to have them tailored to their personal sites? 3. Are they busy doing their normal work for their position held at Wetpaint? These requests are for the WP employee to do favors for others and simply that. If this were not true, then the favors would be implementations effecting all wikis. I know this doesn't ring favorably to what you want to hear as a reply, but be patient.
