Can I delete the News area on my site?

Hi. I don't want the News feature on my site. Can I delete it? Do you find this valuable?

u can delete a news by following this
http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Editing+and+deleting+feeds

but u cant delete the whole thing as far as i know Do you find this valuable?
