Invitations, private sites, and current policy
May 19 2010, 1:48 PM EDT
Hello! I am a member of several private wetpaint pages. It was my understanding that invitations were disabled, but now they are enabled again. I was able to successfuly send invitations to one site, but the another site will send invitations BUT when the user clicks on it, the page doesn't take them to the registration process. They accept the inviation, but they still cannot get in. I don't understand why. Does anyone know? The site used to tell us who we invited and when they accepted the invitation. It is my understanding that this feature was also disabled. Will it be coming back? What is the policy, as of May 2010, for private sites? Can you or can you not send (working) invitations to a private site? If so, how do we get help for this ongoing issue of "broken" invitations? And if not, what is the work around? Is there anything to do other than open the site and allow those members to join? Do you find this valuable? |

It will not be coming back, as it was removed.

Invitation notices will not be coming back or invitations period? My issue is that invitations can be sent, but they cannot be accepted. Has affected multiple users on one single wetpaint page. Do you find this valuable? |

I am able to send invitations. There is an option to send invitations through every private wetpaint page that I'm on. When I send an invitation, it safely arrives to the invitees email address. When he/she clicks on accept, that's when things go haywire. Are you saying that we have the option to send invitations, but they're meaningless invitations? I'm really confused... If the site is private, there should not be an Invite tab on the menu with all the other tabs.

"But there is...and I am able to send invitations. They are impossible to accept, though."Where are you seeing the option to send invites? If it is on a private site, then it is a bug that we need to fix. New members can only be added while a site has the permissions set to one of the public options. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. "If there is no invite option, how do I add new members to a private site?"You will need to make the site public and invite your members to the site. After all your members have joined you can make the site private again. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
