I shouldn't be redirected.

Lately I'll be exploring a wetpaint site, and once I click on the destination page, I end up getting redirected to a whole nother site. I'm usually clicking links from the site's index or it's updates page. Could someone explain why this is happening and/or a way to make it stop? By the way, this is not one of those things that tries to tell me I have viruses and trojans and such.

This happens to me as well.On My own clan site: www.thecnrclan.wetpaint.com I get redirected to random websites. When I try to hit the back button, it only reloads the page I was redirected to. I literally either have to close the window or type in the wetpaint site again.... Really starting to get annoying. If it happens again, I will post the site. Do you find this valuable? |

I suspect a malicious ad is redirecting you to those sites. If you can catch a screen shot of the Wetpaint site just before you are redirected, that would be very helpful.

Thanks for reporting this.Wetpaint is investigating the issue. It sounds like one of the ad networks has let through an ad that is redirecting. If you have any information that will help us identify which ad or ads are causing the redirect, it will help us speed up the process of shutting it down. Do you find this valuable? |

When the redirect happens, it occurs when the banner ad loads. It happens quickly before the ad is even displayed. Here is the site Splats2 was redirected towards.http://www.kiwinets.com/?keyword=yellowpages.com I will attempt to escape out of the redirect at the next occurrence to see if a firebug capture can be made. Do you find this valuable? |

How many pageviews into a session does the redirect typically happen? i.e - does it happen when you first arrive in the site, or do you click through a few pages first? How many? Is there any consistency to it?

Is there any consistency to it?"My experience has been when I first arrive at the wiki. At this time it is difficult to derive a pattern, since it only happened to me twice. But I will keep you abreast of further occurrences. Do you find this valuable? |

This has happened to me as well on ALL of my sites, and on ALL computers.It doesn't take me to just one page, it takes me to a lot of different ones like The Yellow Pages, Car sites, sites that aren't about anything, and those "MEET HOT SINGLES FOR FREE!" sites... Do you possibly think that some kind of virus has spread on WetPaint? I think that's it, but I'm not sure. ~Katriel Do you find this valuable? |

As mentioned above, if you are having trouble with the redirection on Wetpaint, please post a thread with the Redirection URL contained within the post. Wetpaint can only fix the problem is the community can provide assistance. It makes everything a lot easier for Wetpaint. I, for one, have not had any redirection problems. However, I use Ad Block Plus on my Firefox Browser, so that is probably why I am avioding the redirection.
