Wetpaint language packs
Apr 21 2010, 11:10 AM EDT | Post edited: Apr 21 2010, 11:10 AM EDT
Hello I run Squadra Guzzista (www.guzzista.wetpaint.com). A chap in Ecuador wants to start a motorcycle group affiliated to ours but in Ecuador. Naturally I want ti to be a wetpaint site for continuity...if I get their wetpaint site started, when they view the page in Ecuador will the menus/instructions etc be in Spanish? Do you find this valuable?

Wetpaint does not offer language tools. So the instructions and menu items will be in English. I have created instructions on how to use other language packs that do pretty well in translating wiki menus and help files into another language. Please look at this page on my site Splats2 for different opportunities to use existing language translators.

The only possible ways to write the pages in spanish are...

1.Ask jeremy_wetpaint to log into the wetpaint account and edit it to make it spanish.
2.If you know the langauge, type it!
3.If you don't know spanish.. Use Bing Translator. http://www.microsofttranslator.com/
4.Go on Splats2

Jeremy does not have the ability to change the text outside the EasyEdit area, nor does any other person at Wetpaint.

Thank you for your replies, that Splats2 site looks terrific. :-)

One thing though, if you want anything translated into Spanish you definitely do not want to use Bing! haha

Here's an idea for wetpaint then, make the wikis available in Spanish. It's the second widest spoken language and could be a way to massively boost Wetpaint's market share.

I'm a native Spanish speaker so if Wetpaint need someone to translate for them, lemme know!

I'm sure they have someone at Wetpaint to translate for them, Guzzista. Do you find this valuable?
