I can recommend 2 REALLY easy to use animation tool and they are freeware! Go to cnet.com (geeky goodness!) and search downloads for Benton Movie Maker (or is it animator?) and Sqirlz Morph. The first will make an animated image like the one you're in awe of, the latter is great for morhping mutiple images.

I haven't tried editing images from one app. to the other yet, but I do know it can be done with movie making software if it supports importing animated GIF files.

Keep in mind that even the simple animated images are pretty big files. You may need compression software and/or a secondary source, like removable dirve or a hosing site to prevent your hard drive from being bogged down. A great site for storing BIG files is BigFile.com.

When downloading software, it's wise to use trusted sources to avoid mall-ware (spyware & trojans) and programs that are geek reviewed and approved. Cnet has user reviews, which are sometimes helpful, however, some software manufacturers spam reviews to make their products look popular. A great site for geek approved downloads is Majorgeeks.com. In addition to being commited to providing the best of the best, they are dilligent about keeping their recommendations mall-ware free. Users outside of the continetial USA will like MajorGeeks, because they often offer download options over seas, which great reduces download time!

Hope this helps!

Maybe he found a site with embedable code that's similar to Youtube? That's the only thing I can figure, since we can't code in wetpaint. Hmmmm....now I want the answer! Think I'll pop ovr to his site and ask via comment.

I have some animated GIFs that I want to use, however, finding file storage sites that aren't a pain in the johpa is my big challenge. Either they won't allow animated GIFs or the GIFs are to darn big!

Let me know if you find out & I'll share any discoveries I have....

But make sure you copy and paste thing that are under the right Creative Commons permissions or just plain free for use...just a thought. No one here wants their site locked down for copyright violations and we wouldn't want anyone using our work without permission. :) Do you find this valuable?

To use an animated image, the process a slightly different than for posting a standard picture. Find your desired image on the internet, and right-click it. Select Copy. Now go to your Wetpaint site and click the “EasyEdit” button. Paste your image into the location, and click Save. Be sure not to edit any properties of the image or the result will be something other than you probably wanted. Refresh the page and you will find that the image is not a single frame like it would be if you uploaded it from your computer. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
