Prevent child abuse
Apr 2 2010, 6:27 PM EDT
Since 1992, Parents and Teachers Against Violence in Education has been offering the booklet Plain Talk about Spanking to professionals in child-related fields. Here are two typical comments: "Plain Talk is my #1 tool in helping parents make the decision to stop spanking. I can't tell you how many have come in after reading it and said, 'I'll never spank my child (children) again!'" — Janis Christenson, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, Nashville, Tennessee. "Thank you so much for your clear, true, brave and convincing booklet. It should be offered free to every parent immediately after the birth of EACH of their children." — Alice Miller, Ph.D., researcher/author on childhood. You can read Plain Talk . . . online at www.nospank.net/pt2009.htm . If you believe our publication can assist your practice, we would welcome the opportunity to send you one via first-class mail. Simply respond to this email with your postal address. Bulk copies are also available at a modest cost to cover shipping. Let's work together to protect children from violence! Don't hesitate to share this information with colleagues. Jordan Riak, Executive Director Parents and Teachers Against Violence in Education (PTAVE) P.O. This sounds like a great cause, but this is not the appropriate place to post this.
