I have had a site (waldsee.wetpaint.com) for years now and it has never let me use the "search this site" function to yield any results. is there anything I can do to check if my sit eis indexing correctly? Do you find this valuable?

the above-mentioned thread actually doesn't answer any questions about this topic. I have a different question: how does someone check on site indexing or get any kind of follow up on this from wetpaint? Do you find this valuable?

What is the site, and what content does not seem to be getting indexed?

waldsee.wetpaint.com (it is now public, but I am planning on migrating to another service, as I can't leave it public normally). and everything is not indexing. I have never gotten any search results to show up for any search terms.

It can be difficult for a private site to be indexed since the content cannot be crawled by the search engine spiders (bots). They are only able to see the site URL, title, and description. One thing that helps increase the likelihood of being indexed is to have other sites link to your site.

Hi Jeremy,

Please help index our cool Pandora Saga MMORPG wiki site:
http://pandorasagawiki.wetpaint.com -- I'm the creator/admin

The "Search this Site" box is not working on our site. I know this is a known issue. Please help.

We now have thousands of view since I activated Google Analytics. Loads of players need help looking up game infos and data on our site.

Thank You (^~^)

After 3 years of using WP as my wiki host, one thing I can say for certain. The site search function has always had problems returning results. My site Splats2 put their own javascript site search code and directs the users to use Splats2 site search and abandon the WP site search function. Here is an example. Using the WP site search on Splats2 using the word "Templates" returned 17 results. Splats2 site search returned 127 results. Quite a difference.

If you would like to learn how to put your own site search function on your wiki, click on the link below. At the bottom of that page are instructions on how to install the javascript.

If you are Searching For something Try Remembering the Keyword Associated with it. If an Inborn Link(Link to Something Else on the Site) isn't Working Make sure that The Page Name Hasn't Been Changed. I sometimes get Rerouted to The Search Page when a link isn't Working Correctly
