this is kinda messed up. why do i have to pay to get rid of those pesky ads? my computer says that some wetpaint sites are dangerous to my computer, and no i have like 500 trojans from just going on my fav site. i dont even click on the adds, and now my computer is slower and some things are really getting messed up. 12  out of 12 found this valuable. Well, Wetpaint has to make money, or Wetpaint would cease to exist. Would it not? That is the way it is.

Upgrade your flash player to keep from getting trojans. Try changing what ads show up. To do so, do the following:
1.) Got to Name & Logo under Settings.
2.) Scroll down to where it asks what the site is about.
3.) Select something that is not already selected.
(Note: Must be Administrator or above.)

I don't mind the ads per se but I don't want those with sexual overtones - subtle or otherwise. I am trying to set up a site to use with my students but if I can not stop the inappropriate ads am liklee to be told to stop using the Wetpaint site.
What options do I actually have?

Wow. Why do we have to pay? I mean seriously. It dosen't sound like a place to make free websites. I thought that it was free. Not to pay for anything. But I guess you don't want to listen to anyone. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Creating your website is completely free, the ads pay for your wiki. To have them removed is a premium service you are not required to pay.

Did you know that private sites do not have ads. They are removed at advertiser's request. So if you do not mind having your wiki set to private and allowing your members to join by setting the site permissions to public while they join, you can enjoy a site free of pesky ads. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. If you use FireFox, you can use their ad block:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865/
An alternative to making your site private if you do not want to have to change back and forth.

Actually, do not use that link. It made my computer terribly slow and now when I look in the Updates section, everything is squished together. I even un-installed it and it is still that way. (My Norton said it was safe. -_-)

Yes. I completely un-installed it and it wont go back to the normal size. Can you edit your post up there. (17) and get rid of that link? (The link to that site, not the Wetpaint image link.)
