Changeable Usernames

I need to change my username, why? It is on the suggestion list and it has still not be added as a feature. What is the importance of the need to change usenames? Simple. I am sure wetpaint has been used by many schools as a platform to encourage online e-learning by making websites via wetpaint, thus creating online interactive communities, also encouraging the students to make use of Internet resources to learn. Hence for example, when the student advances into a new grade, like from grade 5 to grade6, changes class, their username, usually the student's class ids to help the teachers track their contributions better to the website, has to be changed as their class id changes as they are promoted to a new grade. Get the point. Oh yah, and is there a way to delete one's account with Wetpaint? Wetpaint sure is not very user-friendly I must say in this area. At least if usernames cannot be changed, can't you let the user sign up again to change their usenames?
