On one of my pages on my Site, when I "Link (s)" a site/page using the link option in the EasyEdit Toolbar, it asks me to also, Add text here, but that text doesn't appear, just the whole link itself and it doesn't look very professional. I was wondering why this happens. It only worked twice & the rest of the times it doesn't. Just tried a couple of time too and nothing. I always use the normal procedure. This is the page I'm referring to: http://southfloridajetsfanclub.wetpaint.com/page/Jets+Game+Day+Recap+%26+Stats Thanks in advance for your help. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I tried 3 of your options ... and it worked just fine...Enter the text: (you should enter f.i.): Jets @ Falcons in the Link to box (you should enter f.i.): http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2009122004/2009/REG15/falcons@jets/analyze/box-score and click Add Link.. Another way to add links is described on this page: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Add+Link Just see what works best for you ! * Do you find this valuable? |

F.I. means For Instance, which is just another way of saying For Example.

It's not working. For example, the first one on top, I click on Link in the Edit Toolbar and add link, then enter the text and all I get is one whole link, after I save it. Could it be something else? Do you find this valuable? |

I see how that is...hm. What other steps have you taken to fix the link issue? Also, what browser are you using? Errors will sometimes occur in Internet Explorer, so if you are not already, I suggest switching to FIreFox.

I use Internet Explorer! Do you find this valuable? |

Yes, that may be the problem. Go to www.mozilla.org, download the Mozilla Firefox web browser, and try the links then. This may save you some time and precious sweat. =)

Downloaded Firefox and using that on the Site and it's now working the way I want it. So I guess I have to remember to use FireFox on this Site!

Glad I could help you out! Just a word of advice:IE8 has some odd add-ons that will make most sites run a little awkwardly. Try to use FireFox when you can. It really does help. Glad I could help, and good painting! Chris/ Spanier WPC Community Moderator 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Yes, you can use Firefox (Its awesome) but another way to make a link, is to write the text on the page, and then highlight it, and then click on link. Choose what page, and there you go.Oh and you should know that copying and pasting is pretty difficult on Firefox. Do you find this valuable? |

"Yes, you can use Firefox (Its awesome) but another way to make a link, is to write the text on the page, and then highlight it, and then click on link. Choose what page, and there you go.It is mainly difficult within tables, if you are copying/pasting outside of a table then you should encounter few difficulties. Drag & Drop is recommended in Firefox. Do you find this valuable? |

What's that? And by what I mean as difficult, is that on regular pages, no tables, if you double-click, you highlight everything, and if you type something it just disapears..... Everything.Oh and I figured out a way to copy and paste within tables. Just double-click twice. Do you find this valuable? |

There are different ways to copy, cut and paste while using browsers and operating system platforms. 1. Via a right click menu. This doesn't work with tables with WP, due to WP utilizing the right click for table options. 2. Via Edit menu options of the Browser menu bar. This works very well and is standard through most browsers. 3. Via keyboard shortcuts, again standard through most browsers and operating systems. The best method to learn and use. See this page on Wetpaint Central for a list of keyboard shortcuts. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Keyboard+Shortcuts Do you find this valuable? |

"What's that? And by what I mean as difficult, is that on regular pages, no tables, if you double-click, you highlight everything, and if you type something it just disapears..... Everything. When one highlights text, there is an expected action to be performed on that text. Whether that action is a copy, cut or replacement of the content highlighted. So if a large amount of text is highlighted and a single character is typed, the large amount of text will be replaced by that single character. To learn more about highlighting text and the methods that can be used, see this page on Splats2. http://splats2.wetpaint.com/page/Highlighting+Content Do you find this valuable? |
