Removing inactive members
Feb 8 2010, 9:39 PM EST
I have a problem, Its not with anything done now. It's I have people who have join my site and never returned. Now I do no want to bann them, is there a way I can just delete them or cancle their membership. Because its not fair to ban them if they maybe want to come back. But I just hate having this list of inactive members who either said they won't return or just don't return. Let me know if you will do anything or add something to allow creators to delete members without banning them
Do you find this valuable?

Not trying to sound harsh, but maybe you should let them stay? I mean you'll have a higher member count and also a lot of pro sites around the world let inactive members remain on the site.I don't know what kind of site you run though. Do you find this valuable? |

no if someone hasn't been there for a year, and said they were leaving but didnt delete there membership, id like to be able to remove them, and i dont care about member count, or being popular... its useless to fight and be competetive, i like just having my close friends and thoes who wish to stay

Plus, it's a suggestion. Do you find this valuable? |

The only thing that could be done is for the inactive members to be banned, otherwise there is no other way. Problems could come up if members can just automatically be removed. You may want to view the following thread: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/thread/3312941/Moderator+erasing+members+without+Banning%3F Someone has posted a similar issue and Jeremy basically explains why Wetpaint does not allow members to be removed. Yes but Shadow whats worse, being deleted but able to come back or being completly banned and feel like you did something wrong? I dont want to punish these people, i just dont want all the crowding if they are not even here

Well if you do not want to ban members and simply removing them is not an option, than I would believe that just keeping the members would be the easiest thing to do. They can return at anytime and they honestly don't hurt anyone by being on the members list. If you don't care about member count or being popular, than those members just being left alone wouldn't make much of a difference.

I mean, removing their account is almost a form of punishment in a way and they aren't really crowding anything if they aren't there lol. Do you find this valuable? |
