Wetpaint autocorrects content in URLs and makes links unusable

My wiki is for school, and I need to be able to add links to our school's main site. However, when a filename on our school site has a space in it, the school adds in a %20, which Wetpaint automatically corrects to a +, rendering the link unusable. Manually changing the + back to %20 doesn't work. Is there a setting change that could fix this? Or a workaround other than having people copy and paste the URL of the link? Do you find this valuable?

You could name the pages like this: "This%20%is%20%an%20%example"

Or you could change the links on your school's main page.
