Because otherwise Wetpaint would not make very much money and there would be almost no marketing at all for Wetpaint. Do you find this valuable?

Wetpaint offers a free URL when creating a site, which is: sitename.wetpaint.com/ However, some site creators do not want to have the .wetpaint.com URL, and want to use a custom URL like .com or .org. If Wetpaint offered a custom URL to everyone, much money would be lost, as Brave mentioned. Wetpaint, however, does not gain any money when users do purchase a custom domain. When a site creator purchases a domain, the Domain Provider will make the money. (Ex: GoDaddy) So, in a sense, Wetpaint is saving money. Do you find this valuable?
